Folds and creases allude a softness, urging the viewer to touch the piece only to re-affirm it is actually a hard ceramic object. The piece has an opening at the top, suggesting it can be used for containment, though what useful purpose it can serve is the decision of the object’s owner.
This piece has been created using the process of slip-casting. The mould was made by casting from the foil bag found in boxed wine. The piece is finished with a high gloss white glaze and gold lustre.

I take the domestic environment, everyday objects and mundane rituals as inspiration for the work.
I am interested in how perceptions of objects are altered when they are displaced and presented in incongruous surroundings.
I strive to make pieces that are quirky and unique and produced to the highest standard of craftsmanship.
