These decorative ceramic cushions are a new take on ‘soft furnishings’. They are designed to hang flush against your wall alongside one another united by the flowing black stripe. They are equally effective mounted horizontally or vertically.
This piece has been created using the process of slip-casting. The mould was made by casting from inflated plastic packaging. This series is unglazed with a black oxide stripe throughout.

I take the domestic environment, everyday objects and mundane rituals as inspiration for the work.
I am interested in how perceptions of objects are altered when they are displaced and presented in incongruous surroundings.
