Folds and creases allude a softness, urging the viewer to touch the piece only to re-affirm it is actually a hard ceramic object. Resting at a jaunty angle, the piece appears to have been casually put down.
This piece has been created using the process of slip-casting. The mould was made by casting from the foil bag found in boxed wine. The piece is finished with a high gloss salmon glaze and platinum lustre.

I take the domestic environment, everyday objects and mundane rituals as inspiration for the work.
I am interested in how perceptions of objects are altered when they are displaced and presented in incongruous surroundings.
I strive to make pieces that are quirky and unique and produced to the highest standard of craftsmanship.
